By their very nature, Peak District Yurts are an environmentally sound form of accommodation, originally built by nomadic tribesmen in Asia using only natural and readily available materials. At Peak District Yurts, our Yurts are still built according to the original design and materials developed by the tribesmen over hundreds of years. In order to fuel the log fire inside the Yurt, we provide off cuttings and and seasoned wood taken from the local area and sustainable wood sources.
David Bellamy Award Scheme
Peak District Yurts & Rivendale are proud to have been awarded 10 successive David Bellamy Gold
Awards – a claim that can be made by only a handful of the six hundred
plus Holiday Parks that enter the scheme nationally – and by no other
holiday park within the Peak District National Park boundary. This award
is made only after an independent expert assesses each Holiday Park on
its biodiversity, recycling, and environmental impact and so on –
visitors to Rivendale can rest assured that we are doing our best for
the environment, not because we say so, but on the basis of 10
independent environmental audits.
